Who reads the applications once they arrive at the business school? Are students involved in this process? Is it an individual or Board decision?




AGSM Answer:

The Admissions Team reads the applications upon submission. Once an initial review has been made, the candidates' file goes to the Selection Committee which is made up of representatives from the Faculty, Careers, and Admissions.

How would you describe the decision making process?



AGSM Answer:

We take into account all components of the application before making an assessment.

What criteria are used to evaluate good prospective candidates?



AGSM Answer:

The prospective candidate must meet our minimum requirements. Once this is achieved, all components will be taken into account upon making a decision.

How important is the GMAT/TOEFL scores?

Is there a minimum needed before a candidate should consider applying?


AGSM Answer:

Minimum: 550. Average is 640.

AGSM Answer:

We look for detail and uniqueness in examining an applicants professional and personal development.
Candidates need to ensure that they answer the essay questions asked.

How important is it to stay within the designated word limit?



AGSM Answer:

It is important that the candidates follow and abide by all instructions upon submitting their application.


WCW Question:

What role do the 'Letters of Recommendation' play?



AGSM Answer:

The letters of recommendation assist the Admissions team in gaining a better feel for the candidate in a professional environment. We strongly take into account the comments made from the referees.



WCW Question:

What is the function of an interview at your school, and what role does it play in the admissions process?



AGSM Answer:

Personal Interviews are not required however, looked upon highly.

Telephone interviews may be required.



WCW Question:

Are there unofficial/ official quotas allocated by country or region?



AGSM Answer:

No official or unofficial quotas. Maximum class size is 110.



WCW Question:

Does your school have 'rolling' admissions or admissions 'rounds'? When is the best period for a candidate to apply? Are candidates penalized for applying in the last round?



AGSM Answer:

AGSM makes continuous offers on a rolling admission basis so applications may be submitted at any time during the year. However, early applications are strongly encouraged.


International students should take into account visa processing time. The Selection
Committee makes final decisions on complete applications within three weeks of submission.


The application cut off date is 30th September. We will continue to accept late applications if the spaces are available, however a late fee of $500 will apply.


Timely submission of applications will provide the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
